Bookshop Manager Posting
-
The Given Bookshop is a cherished gathering place in the heart of Pinehurst, offering a warm browsing experience and supporting the Given Memorial Library and Tufts Archives through the sale of donated, gently-used books. Operated by the Given Tufts Foundation, the Bookshop plays an essential role in fostering community connection, lifelong learning, and a love of reading.
The Bookshop shares its historic home—The Outpost—with a popular local coffee shop. The Outpost was originally built by the federal government as Pinehurst’s post office and remains one of the Village’s most beautiful and beloved landmarks. Preserving the character of this unique building is central to the Foundation’s mission, and the Bookshop Manager will help ensure that it continues to thrive as a lively, welcoming space for all who visit.
We are seeking a part-time Bookshop Manager to lead daily operations, engage our enthusiastic volunteer community, and nurture The Outpost as a vibrant cultural and social hub. A deep appreciation for books, community engagement, and the special spirit of Pinehurst will be valuable assets in this role.
